Clifford A. Bernstein, M.D.


Board Certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology, American Board of Pain Medicine
and the American Society of Addiction Medicine, Dr. Bernstein possesses an in depth knowledge
and thorough understanding of pain management and opiate dependence.


Dr. Bernstein is nationally recognized for his pioneering work in the fields of
addiction medicine and neurostimulation. Dr. Bernstein is currently involved extensively
in several research projects in these areas.


He is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesia at the University of California,
Irvine. He earned his Doctorate of Medicine from Rutgers University School of Medicine.
His post doctorate training was at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia.


Dr. Bernstein is a member of the Interventional Pain Practitioners, and the International
Association for Study of Pain, among many other professional societies.
He has served on the Board of Directors at Tustin Hospital and Medical Center and is the
Quality Director at the Newport Coast Medical Center.


Dr. Bernstein currently operates a busy chronic pain management practice in Newport Beach,
California. Dr. Bernstein stresses the judicious use of opiate medications and frequently
utilizes neuromodulating devices to ease patients pain.


Dr. Bernstein is a pioneer in the fields of Anesthesia Assisted Opiate Detoxification
and Spinal Cord Stimulation. He is a leading practitioner of the Waismann Method
and Medical Director of Anesthesia Assisted Medical Opiate Detoxification Inc.
